The tricky part about biographies is deciding how much growing up stuff and other detail to put in that doesn't involve what made them famous. If you are super into someone, you are anxious to get that detail. I wanted to get to the crazy Go Go's stuff, which is how the book was marketed, but got bogged down in the childhood stuff. If you are a Kathy Valentine superfan, or are into bleak, humorless descriptions of a counter-culture childhood, you'll like it. If you just like the Go Go's, or want a fun read about a female rock band, there's probably a documentary or something more fun to watch.
